Gear Up for the Holiday Season
Christmas is only about two months away! Are you ready? Is your organization ready? The goal of this article is to provide you with easy, yet effective ways to be prepared and to build customer/partner relations during the holiday season.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are about giving. Giving thanks and giving of ones self. To maximize on the busiest shopping period of the year, target your marketing material to arrive in homes no later than Thanksgiving. This ensures customers have time to review and make their purchases so they can receive their orders at least one week prior to Christmas.
Historically, December is a prime time for giving. Some donors maximize their taxable contributions while others, when presented with the Christmas story, are motivated to give. Non-profit organizations should have donation letters in homes no later than the first week in December.
Maximize on the holiday season with one or more of the following:
- Thanksgiving Message - A simple, one-page letter or e-blast with a Thanksgiving message can easily and affordably be generated to provide a bounce back mechanism for a year-end purchase or gift.
- Christmas Card - It is always a good idea to send a personalized Christmas card to your customers/donors (especially to the higher donors or your best customers).
- Seasonal Greeting A seasonal greeting in the form of an outbound call with thanks for their support and to offer warm wishes for the New Year can certainly help strengthen relationships with your customer/donor base.
- Christmas Catalog Feature your key products in a Christmas catalog. It can be a simple, one-piece bi-fold listing, a multi-page, full-color catalog, or a specially marked link on your web site.
- Prepackaged Gift When you present your product so it can be purchased and presented as a gift, it can be a win-win situation. This allows the individual a convenient method to give a gift and you an opportunity to obtain a sale.
- Communicate the Vision Communicate or remind people of your vision so they can be informed and give towards the vision.
